WOMAD!

WOMAD!

Don't Mock Me recently attended our biggest (and most exciting) event yet; Womad! It still feels surreal to say. We jumped at the opportunity to be apart of Adelaide's most prestigious festivals, and to say it was a success would be an understatement.

Womad was a challenge and yet so, so rewarding. We spent the weeks prior hiring our first team! This was such a huge step for Don't Mock Me, which has always been operated by its founders Lisa and Michael. We're so proud of our little team we curated, and we are so thankful to them for their hard work. We can confidently credit them with pretty much all of our success at Womad, and we are so excited to have them on board with us for future events and festivals!

Our crew aren't the only ones we should credit- we have to thank every festival attendee who gave us a chance and supported our business. The response and support we received was outstanding and we are truly astonished. It is always a risk to attend large events as an alcohol-free vendor, especially in a country that has such an integrated alcohol-centric culture. We get it, we really do; almost everyone likes to celebrate with a cheeky bevy.  It is this group of "almost" that we want to cater to.  Being a non-drinker in Australia is isolating, and options for this group of people are always so limited.  Where is the fun in going to a festival or event and sipping water or Sprite all day while everyone else enjoys their fun 'adult' drinks.

Over the last few years we have noticed such a change in Australia's demand for alcohol-free options that are still fun and interesting, and we are so thankful that larger festivals and event organisers are picking up on this too! We are only a few days post-festival, but we are already getting such a positive response to our presence at Womad and the future for Don't Mock Me is looking bright.

Experiencing Womad has given us so much more knowledge and expanded our horizons more than we ever could have imagined.  We can't thank Womad enough for this opportunity, and taking a chance on a little alcohol-free bar.  Thank you again to our beautiful employees who made the 4 days such a joy, and thank you Adelaide for your support.
